New York artist Agathe Snow works with a number of different mediums, including sculpture, writing, food, and performance in her ever-evolving artistic practice. Her art often reflects current events, such as societal and environmental breakdowns, and how these collapses are related to consumerism. Her work is often messy, indicating decay and revealing that the world holds beauty in unexpected places.
In addition to her inclusion in the 2008 Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, Snow has had solo exhibitions in France, Germany, and the United States. She has collaborated with a number of artists throughout her career and is well-known for her 2007 exhibition No Need To Worry, The Apocalypse Has Already Happened. . . at the James Fuentes Gallery. This five-week-long performance told the story of a flooded Manhattan and featured a sculpture of the insides of a beached whale.
