Alex Ito

New York based artist Alex Ito explores corporately produced affects of success and well-being. His sculpture and wall-hung works are cool and clean, referencing corporate objects that promise beauty, luck and success - mere façades of function. Exploring the marketplace’s production of winners and losers via excessive production, distribution, and consumption of products, Ito reminds us of the oppressive, even violent, aspects of consumerism.

Ito was born in 1991 in Los Angeles and lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Solo and two-person exhibitions include Alex Ito & Erika Ceruzzi at Springsteen Gallery in Baltimore, Water McBeer Gallery in San Francisco, Art in General in New York, Steve Turner Contemporary in Los Angeles, and The Still House Group in New York.
