Anders Holen

Norwegian artist Anders Holen creates sculptures and installations in a variety of different media. A search for the it in things, and an interest for the term object agency form the basis of the works by Holen. He reproduces objects out of matireal such as silver and copper, aluminium and plaster, including eggplants, ice cream cones, artichokes, spoons, and cocktail glasses, as well as pure abstractions. Objects are combined, and distorted to blur the line between subject and object.

Anders Holen’s work has been included in group and solo shows, including Helper Projects, New York, Kunsthall Oslo, Norway, Carlos Queso Gallery, Los Angeles, Vigelands Museum, Norway, Elephant Kunsthall, Norway, and Contemporary Art Center Vilnius, Lithuania. He has received many grants, including Norsk Kulturråd, and Norske Billedkunstnere.
