Stack Of Gear, 2011 - Andrew Rae

About the Work

Inspired by the lyrics of pop songs and the apparatus behind the digital production of music, Rae’s pieces are like cartoon stills from a bizarre, hilariously funny music video.

About the Artist

As an Illustrator, graphic designer, and art director, Andrew Rae's work in television, advertising, and the fine-art world reaches a broad spectrum of audiences. A member of the multidisciplinary collective Peepshow, Rae has done work for the BBC, MTV Asia, Time Magazine, The Guardian, The New York Times, Die Zeit, American Express, Puma, and Sony, among other publications and brands. In 2007, his short film Stunt was screened on Channel 4 in the UK.

Perfect for the MTV generation, Rae's work is sophisticated and witty, at home both in Microsoft ads and at the Tate Modern, for which he produced a line of T-shirts, prints and books.
