About The Artist

New York artist, Anne Chu blends Eastern and Western influences in her art to create striking contrasts between the new and the old, as well as the known and unknown. Primarily a sculptor, though she has also proved successful as a painter, Chu endeavors to evoke themes in her artwork that remain relevant and meaningful across time and culture.

After studying sculpture in college, Chu has worked with a variety of materials including wood, fabric, ceramics, and cast paper. Chu draws inspiration for her work from a number of diverse sources, such as books on fashion and mannerisms, photographs of birds, ancient sculptures, and medieval literature. Although her art reflects a variety of influences, her work remains both original and distinct.
