Anthony Campuzano Bio

About The Artist

Anthony Campuzano is known for his use of found language in his drawings, taking text from such sources as newspaper headlines, Wikipedia entries, the covers of paperback novels, and song lyrics. He distills this language into succinct phrases that express a particular mood or capture the essence of an important headline. His work has been exhibited widely including solo exhibitions at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia; Fleisher/Ollman Gallery, Philadelphia; and White Columns, New York. Campuzano received his BFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, and is a 2009 recipient of the Pew Fellowship in the Arts.
