Bhuvanesh Gowda

Mumbai-based artist Bhuvanesh Gowda creates sculptures that explore the unknown, the unexplained, and the mystical. “I’m looking into some possible impossibilities and impossible possibilities," Gowda said in his 2012 show Pursuit of the Ridiculous. Mostly carved from wood, Gowda's sculptures are both modern and nostalgic, playing on classical motifs while playing with illusions of perspective and space.

Gowda has exhibited in group shows at many Indian galleries, including Chemould Prescott Road in Mumbai, The Guild Art Gallery in Mumbai, The Birla Gallery in Mumbai, Project 88 in Mumbai, and India Habitat Centre in Delhi. His most recent solo show featuring carved sculptures, digital prints, and cast cement was at Chemould Prescott Road, Mumbai.
