Brian Andrew Whiteley

Brian Andrew Whiteley creates provocative performance, sculpture, installation, and video works. His pieces often involve elements of surprise and audience engagement. For the performance, Bigfoot Hoaxes, Whiteley dressed up as Bigfoot and walked through Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Whiteley writes, “This project is primarily focused on generating new mythologies through my characters and starting conversations in the public forum about paranormal experiences. Through the course of the project, a secondary goal emerged: media manipulation. How does the media substantiate works of art and how far can I push them on covering performance art.”

Whiteley’s work has been exhibited at the Wassaic Project, NY, WhiteBox, NY, The Invisible Dog, NY, and at Governors Island for Figment Arts Festival.
