Caio Reisewitz

Brazilian photographer Caio Reisewitz has exhibited extensively in his home country as well as throughout South America and Europe, earning recognition for his breathtaking, large-scale images of Brazilian subjects. Reisewitz’s thoughtful compositions depict lush jungle landscapes, urban sprawl, and the effects of economic growth, as well as the country’s architectural heritage, ranging from colonial period structures to examples of 20th-century modernism. Working in a smaller scale, Reisewitz also constructs playful photocollages that have an unexpected disorienting effect on the viewer.

Reisewitz represented Brazil at the 2005 Venice Biennale, and his first solo show in the United States was staged at New York’s International Center of Photography in 2014.
