Chourouk Hriech

French-born Moroccan artist Chourouk Hriech draws exclusively in black and white, evoking a walk through space and time. Her works on paper, on the walls, on the objects that surround us, are a call for the contemplation of old and more recent architectures, real and imaginary—as well as figures, animals, vegetation and chimeras. Her drawings articulate and confront the patterns of urban and everyday life, following the chaos of the word with equanimity, at once resistant and utopian.

Hriech has shown her monochromatic drawings in a number of venues including Centre d'arts plastiques Maison du peuple, Vénissieux, France, Musée Cantini, Printemps de l'Art Contemporain, Marseille, France, Galerie Atelier 21, Casablanca, Morocco, Pierre Budin, Paris, and Kunsthalle de Mulhouse, France, among others.
