About The Work
Mark-making could be considered the earliest and most general definition of art-making, a concept that Chuck Webster has enthusiastically embraced. His brightly colored, geometric drawings and prints reflect the both the spontaneity and purpose of his artistic methods. Reoccurring shapes such as a donut-holed octagon and pyramid like polygons lay a foundation for experiments in color washes and the incorporation of text. Bargain, one of two other etchings he created during his second collaboration with Wingate Studio, reproduces some of these octagonal structures, here overlaid with scribbled text and a pinkish, mottled wash.
