    About The Work

Pop artist Claes Oldenburg's many Injun projects throughout the 1960s included a fragment from his staged "Ray Gun Theater," a book writings titled Injun and Other Histories, and a number of visual artworks using the motif. In Injun Foster the sculptors sensibilities are pronounced in a screen print more decorative than descriptive, the face of this character obscured into painterly gestures.
