Clifton Wright

Clifton Wright has been a member of Intoart, a London visual arts charity working with people with learning disabilities, since 2005. Wright’s work reflects his interest in people and interiors. Sometimes working from images of people unknown to him or those in the media, he has more recently recaptured photographs from his past family and personal history to the present day. This series of small scale drawings have been made over a number of years. Starting from the pages of his family album and photographic documentation of interiors and people, he re-photographs his source material in order to create new images to draw from. The drawings often pay as much attention to the edges of the book or surface of the wall as to the people themselves. Wright has exhibited in a range of contemporary art galleries and museums including Whitechapel Gallery, Tate Modern, Studio Voltaire, and MAD Musée in Belgium.
