Courttney Cooper

Courttney Cooper draws the Cincinnati landscape that surrounds him. Inspired by his incredible memory of local architecture and personal observations growing up in the city, Cooper crafts detailed maps by utilizing everyday objects such as bic pens and recycled paper. Cooper begins his artistic process with one sheet of paper and as the work continues to expand, he adds paper to further the vision. Cooper also pays homage to Oktoberfest in his work with references to balloons, beer, and German culture.

Cooper has had solo exhibitions at Western Exhibitions and Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art in Chicago. He has exhibited work at the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Contemporary Art Center in Cincinnati, and the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center in Covington, KY. In addition, Cooper received The Wynn Newhouse Foundation Award.
