David Bowes

Kaleidoscopic compositions of myth, abstraction, and color, the paintings of American artist David Bowes defy categorization. Often combining organic elements such as rice fields, nautilus shells, and blooming flowers with religious, cultural and art historical iconography, Bowes’s work reflects his fascination with psychology, context and storytelling.

Bowes has participated in a number of solo gallery exhibitions and group shows, including the Austin Museum of Art, Austin, TX, The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburg, PA, Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, CA and the 48th International Venice Biennale.
