About The Artist
Florian Morlat is a multimedia artist who creates colorful forms and designs Minimalist installations that recall the formalist work of artists like Ellsworth Kelly and Robert Morris. Morlat mixes three-dimensional forms to texturize the vibrant patterns in his work and creates varied levels of art to sculpt the negative space of his installations. As a multi-faceted artist, Florian Morlat isn’t afraid to experiment with a flat wall-hanging, an Alexander Calder-like mobile hanging from the ceiling, and a sculpture installed on the floor, to create various reference points in his visual opus. Born in Germany where he received his formal training as an artist, Morlat currently works and lives in Los Angeles.
