Gudmundur Thoroddsen

Gudmundur Thoroddsen, who lives and works in Reykjavik, graduated with a BA in fine arts from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2003 and studied film theory at the University of Iceland in 2006. His painting-drawing hybrids, including his sugary, sweet-looking Ice-Cream Land, mix pencil drawings with poured pastel-colored acrylic paints and, with irony, take aim at consumer society and pop culture.
