Utilizing the technique of light painting, the photographer Harold Ross captures preternatural landscapes and unearthly discarded objects. Creating a hyper-reality defined by intense colors and rich textures, his photographs approach their subjects in an unforeseen and often startling manner. Depicting scenes from a midnight woodland, Ross's series Night emphasizes the tension between the real setting and the constructed illumination.

Ross's work has been shown nationally and internationally in over two dozen exhibitions. In 2011, he was invited to participate in an exhibition of landscape photography in Inner Mongolia, China, along with 10 other American photographers. Ross has been published extensively in the U.S. and internationally, including Photo China Magazine, LensWork, and Photographer Magazine in the Ukraine. He was also chosen as one of four photographers to exhibit in the inaugural FRESH Exhibition, at Klompching Gallery in New York, and is currently on exhibit at High Noon Culture and Art in Beijing.Read Less
