    About The Work

This print accompanies a mural commissioned by Sadler’s Wells Dance House for the upper entrance to the theater. Inspired by Muslim religious texts, Kahn repeatedly superimposes poetic sentences in blue and black ink with a rubber stamp, mimicking the transformative experience of continual movement in spiritual rituals, particularly in reference to a part of the pilgrimage to Hajj where devotees walk back and forth seven times between two mountains in Mecca.
