"Whilst many artists create based upon a specific idea or vision, mapping out the piece in great detail in their mind and then putting this into a physical form, photography tends to be more spontaneous and voyeuristic, attempting to capture perfect, beautiful and unique images or moments in time. It's often about what you see not what you imagine. As an artist, not by choice, I fall somewhere in the middle, creating circumstances in which I try to find that magical moment and the perfect image" - Jack HardwickeRead Less

"I am making the art that I like, the way I want to, I'm not following any rule book— for better or worse." -Jack Hardwicke
An artist who struggles with calling himself an artist, Jack Hardwicke only recently realized his passion for abstract photography. Not one to divulge his creative process, he believes that "the less people know, the more they engage their imaginations" which he cites as the goal of his work. His combination of digital photography, abstract composition, and vivid pops of color creates results that are as enigmatic as his artistic practice.
Jack Hardwicke is the grand prize award winner selected by a jury of art world judges and Artspace founders in The Next Artspace Artist competition. He has recently been interviewed by The Creator's Project and Bizarre Beyond Belief Magazine. He is currently showing his work at Fishing Quarter Gallery in Brighton, England.
