Jean Seestadt

In her work, Brooklyn-based artist Jean Seestadt explores the fragility of life and the way that fleeting moments become signs and symbols of a life as it is lived. Through lists, images, and text, she captures and interrogates her own relationship with death. In her practice she also examines the ways that new technologies shape and affect experiences of death and bodily fragility in our society.

Seestadt’s work has been exhibited in United States and Europe, and she has participated in residencies at Carter Burden and the Wassaic Project. She has been reviewed in several publications including The New York Times, Hyperallergic and The Huffington Post.
