    About The Work

This pulsating untitled print by Joanne Greenbaum, an etching in an edition of 20, embodies the artist’s penchant for controlled chaos. Here, distinct, seemingly sturdy architectural elements collide with loose scribbled lines. Greenbaum’s engrossing landscape further confounds on account of the spiral staircase—with uncertain purpose, these steps swirl across the composition, perhaps a nod to M.C. Escher’s surreal stairways.
