John Connor

John Connor is a collaborative project between the artists JPW3 and Sayre Gomez. The artists have adopted the protagonist from the Terminator franchise, as a way to collaboratively make works from the position of the disenfranchised youth who later grows to become the leader in a war against evil forces embodied by a form of self-aware technology, which increasingly resembles the technology of the real life present. The project presents itself as a rebuttal to recent trends in the contemporary art world, which have adopted a position of open embracement and implementation of technology as a focal point. The two artists have worked on numerous book and curatorial projects together, and have also exhibited their artworks together but John Connor is their first collaborative art project.
