Jose Di Gregorio

Jose di Gregorio was born in Puerto Rico and moved to California at the age of four. He currently lives and works in the Sacramento area after attending art programs all over the United States and the world throughout his youth. He paints his vibrant and colorful works utilizing the drip technique—Gregorio never touches the surface of his paintings, he only controls the canvas as the diluted acrylic travels downwards. He saves his more tactile talents for the line and dots drawings that he incorporates into his work.

In a recent exhibition of Di Gregorio's titled Cosmo Cathedral at the Verge Center for the Arts in Sacramento, he hung his pieces on the ceiling, creating a religious environment that submerged the viewer within his work. He has had solo exhibitions in Sacramento, Oakland, and Indianapolis, and participated in group shows in California and Indiana.
