Julio Morales Bio

About The Artist

Julio Morales truly walks in all parts of society, working both as a celebrated artist and curator, and as a teacher in public schools and probation offices. Working in a variety of media, including public art, video installations, and interactive digital art, he is inspired by the design, popular music and street life of his native Tijuana. In his work, Morales addresses conflict that occurs in cross-cultural communities.

Morales has received awards from the Rockefeller Foundation, Creative Work Fund, Artadia, California Arts Council, and many others. He is also the founder and co-curator for Queens Nails Annex, an artist run project space in San Francisco.
