June Culp

Baltimore based artist June Culp makes abstract paintings that make use of the figure in often comical and sometimes sexual ways. Her new "window paintings" depict voyeuristic domestic scenes, as if peeped through the windows of a house at different times of day. In Culp's works, a nude, cartoonish female figure, a stand-in for the artist, eats, fights and has sex in small, square, monochrome compositions.

Culp's recent exhibitions include "Black and Blue" at Gallery 919 in Wilmington, Deleware, "Bingo!" at Platform Art Center in Baltimore, and "Sharper Image" at Ethan Cohen Fine Arts in New York.
