Kreëmart x Romina de Novellis

Italian performance artist Romina De Novellis arrived at performance art by way of dance and theater. Trained as a classical dancer and choreographer, her multidisciplinary approach to bodily gesture and physical vulnerability locates the body within a philosophical, anthropological, and sociological context. Novellis’ performances are materialized as photography and video, which are produced by Mauro Bordin.

De Novellis was born in Naples, grew up in Rome, and currently resides in Paris. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Dance of London in 1999 and went on to receive a Master of the DAMS of the University Rome 3 in 2008, and also holds a PhD in Anthropology. She has performed at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, in several Nuit Blanches, and in the FIAC Outdoors in the Jardin des Plantes. She’s also performed during the opening week of events at the Venice Biennales of 2011 and 2013.
