Lecia Dole Recio

For over a decade Lecia Dole Recio has been combining abstract painting with collage to create vibrant, process-driven work. Her work often makes use of cut outs and collage to explore positive and negative space, much like Jasper Johns and Henri Matisse. Dole Recio’s method involves painting and layering cut out circles, triangles, and found objects, which she then uses to create compositions or saves for future works. In this unique way, Dole Recio's practice references the past and future.

Dole Recio’s work has been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including the “2004 Biennial Exhibition” at Whitney Museum of American Art, The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, Galleria Francesca Kaufmann, Milan, and Peres Projects, Berlin.
