Lesley Jackson

Chicago-based artist Lesley Jackson creates sculptures and socially engaged projects that explore the tensions between nature and the built environment. For the sculpture Right Before the Sun Sets, Jackson created a set of abstracted headphones using rocks instead of earphones. The playful tone of this work is characteristic of her practice, which embraces the dysfunctional relationship between manmade objects and natural elements.

Lesley Jackson’s work has been included in group and solo shows in Chicago, including Forth Ward Project Space, Chicago Artist Coalition, Beautiful Gallery, Heaven Gallery, and Cornerstore Gallery. She has held residencies at Chicago Artist Coalition, Vermont Studio Center, John W. Kurtich Travel Foundation, Brazil, and The Academy for Global Citizenship, Chicago.
