Linda Vallejo

Spanning a variety of media, from site-specific installations to painting, sculpture, and ceramics, Linda Vallejo has created works that shed light on a number of contemporary concerns, including racial prejudices and division. Her ongoing series, Make 'Em All Mexican (2010), recasts familiar American icons as Latinos, thus playfully encouraging the viewer to consider the relationship between Latinos and the "American Dream." The mixed-media series illustrates Vallejo's propensity toward social satire while simultaneously providing a showcase for her mastery of multiple artistic techniques. Her work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Carnegie Art Museum, the Fresno Art Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art.
