About The Artist

Best known as the ringleader and songwriter of the Velvet Underground, a band championed by pop culture maven Andy Warhol, Lou Reed had a long and successful solo musical career before trying his hand at photography. By experimenting with a painterly style of photography, he proves his mettle as a visual artist, while adding to the mystique of his celebrity status. Married to musician and performance artist Laurie Anderson, Reed's legendary role as an underground, avant-garde arbiter continues on unabated in his beautiful, atmospheric portraits of cities and countrysides.
