About The Artist

Mai Braun is known for her experimental installations that she executes with less traditional fine art media like house paint, lumber, and plastic. Her two-dimensional compositions range in style from fetishistic figural paintings to Color Field paintings that re-conceptualize the physics of color addition and subtraction. Braun was a Chinati Foundation artist-in-residence and a Core Fellow at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
