Photographer Matt Ducklo takes pictures of visually impaired individuals as they interact with world-renowned sculptures from major institutions using their sense of touch. Museums set up "Touch Tours" for blind visitors, giving them the opportunity to interact with famous sculptures in the only way they can. Ducklo's photographs are taken in prominent museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Tate Modern, and the Museum of Modern Art, among others.
The sculptures found in Ducklo's photographs are historically significant and easily identifiable. Ducklo's photographs focus on both the renowned sculptures found in these museums and the individuals interacting with the sculptures. The photographs are not staged; Ducklo captures individuals as they become familiar with iconic works of art in a way that most visitors do not get to experience them. Read Less
