New Humans

Lives and Works New York, NY
The New Humans is a New York-based artists' group led by Mika Tajima, a maker of experimental musical installations and performances, and involving a rotating cast of collaborators. Its members interact with sets made of scaffolding, mirrors, and colorful partitions, often interrupting staticky, minimal soundscapes with spontaneous gestures. The group appeared in the 2006 Whitney Biennial and has performed widely, at venues including X Initiative, SculptureCenter, and Ballroom Marfa.
