Nicholas Mangan

Australian multi-disciplinary artist Nicholas Mangan creates complex and unsettling drawings, sculptures and installations that derive their inspiration from the natural world, historical narrative and the dynamics of globalized economy. Interweaving icons and objects from cultural and natural sources, Mangan’s work explores the multifarious, often fraught relationship between human beings and the biological world.

Mangan has exhibited his work extensively in Australia and internationally. Recent exhibitions include Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne, Witte de With, Rotterdam, Les Abattoirs, Toulouse, Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne, Monash Museum of Art, Melbourne, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne. He participated in the 2015 New Museum Triennial: Surround Audience, New York, the 9th Biennial do Mercosul, Porto Alegre, and the 13th Istanbul Biennial (both 2013).
