Oliver Rafferty

Oliver Rafferty’s work is an attempt to improve his understanding of the world—objects, our relationship to these objects, images, time, space, how decisions are made, how things are done. Through a rigorous analysis of reality–shifting it, exaggerating it, offering alternative interpretations of it–he attempts to give a connection and a fresh interpretation of a world that seems to be increasingly ungraspable. Whilst grounded in theory, the work is made with an openness that frees it from an understandable, restrictive theoretical framework, and instead refers to a broad scope of ideas that are less certain and harder to pin down.

He has had solo exhibitions at Face Food in Projects in London, Gradus in Tilburg, and Rod Barton Gallery in London. His works have been included in group exhibitions in London at Kinman, Limazulu, ATP Gallery in London, and George and Jorgen Fine Art, among other venues.
