Raina With Guitar #1, LA (French Marie Claire), 1999 - Pamela Hanson

About the Work

This seductive image manages to maintain the innocence of not only the model but also the unchanging Southern California gas station, seemingly frozen in time. The photograph evokes images of similar landscapes taken by Ed Ruscha in the 1960s and 1970s.
