About Artists of the World
Artists of the World (AOW) was founded with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help others. In 1981, The Rotary Club of Denver began Artists of America, an annual art sale and gala event that represented 200 artists and 5,000 pieces of art for sale. From 1981 to 2000, Artists of America sold $13.5 million in art and raised $2 million in funds, becoming one of the most successful art shows in the country.
Seeing the impact of art in raising money, the members of the Rotary Club of Denver looked for ways to expand their success beyond their local efforts. Advances in technology led the way.
In 2010, the members of the Rotary Club of Denver recognized the potential to leverage the latest technologies to translate their expertise into a new business model that would change the way money is raised to help those in need. No longer would individuals be asked to donate money to support a worthy cause, but rather funding would be secured through commerce transactions—art sales. These transactions would not only bring buyers great joy, but also provide assistance to individuals who desperately require aid.
Artists of the World is the evolution of Artists of America—an online and live art auction dedicated to raising funds for clean water and sanitation projects around the world.
Artists of the World offers artists and sellers a marketplace to showcase their work to the most knowledgeable collectors and appreciators of fine art. It offers buyers access to some of the most exclusive art properties in the world and gives all of its customers the same benefits as traditional online auction houses with the added bonus of helping those in need.
