About Flux Projects
Flux Projects supports artists in creating innovative temporary public art throughout Atlanta. The organization produces new platforms for artistic experimentation that engages a broad audience in their daily lives, beyond the walls of traditional arts venues. Flux Projects challenges artists to make exceptional, surprising work that inspires Atlanta and fosters an awareness of the richness and diversity of the city's creative culture.
Atlanta-based collector and patron Louis Corrigan founded Flux Projects in 2009. Corrigan had been quietly supporting Atlanta artists and organizations for many years through his work on the board of non-profit arts organizations and his private sponsorship of specific art events. In the spring of 2009, Atlanta's arts community was suffering greatly from the recession, and Corrigan recognized the need for a bold move to bolster spirits and fund artists. Flux Projects is the result of his commitment.
Flux Projects is the only organization presenting a year-round public art program throughout Atlanta. Its goal is to bring innovative, fun, and thought-provoking projects to the places where Atlantans spend their daily lives: where they work, travel, and play. Flux Projects is funding artists to do more ambitious projects and providing them greater exposure to the Atlanta community. By reaching outside of traditional venues, it hopes to broaden the audience for the arts in Atlanta and bring a greater awareness of the richness and diversity of the city's creative culture.
