Sadie Coles HQ is a contemporary art gallery in central London that opened in April 1997. The gallery focuses on presenting the work of established and emerging international artists. The inaugural exhibition of new paintings by American painter John Currin in 1997 was mounted in parallel to a show of works by British artist Sarah Lucas, The Law, on St. John Street.
Sadie Coles first worked as a gallery director for Anthony d'Offay. She opened her own gallery, Sadie Coles HQ, in April 1997 with paintings by John Currin and an installation by Sarah Lucas, one of the Young British Artists. Jim Lambie, whom she represents, was a nominee for the 2005 Turner Prize.
