Patricia Fernández

Patricia Fernández applies an archeological approach to the family archive in order to investigate the inaccuracy of our inherited memories and the subjectivity of personal experience. Through a complex network of forms and information, she seeks to investigate histories and literatures forgotten, misplaced, or buried.


She has exhibited at LA><ART in Los Angeles, Clifton Benevento in New York, David Petersen Gallery in Minneapolis, and ltd los angeles. Her project A Record of Succession was exhibited at Made in L.A. at Hammer Museum in 2012. She has been a recipient of a Joan Mitchell Grant and an Artist in Residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts, among other honors.
