The video and installation pieces of up-and-coming contemporary artist Rachel Rose address various questions of morality, perception and history. Merging moving images and sounds into highly intentional environments, Rose redefines sensory space in her multifaceted installations. Often pulling inspiration from the natural world, Rose filters her piece through the lens of institutional space, engaging with the architecture of museums, fair tents and exhibition areas. Her subjects range from Revolutionary War to park and zoo design to robotics, her pieces weaving and overlapping imagery to address various states of visual creation in contemporary society.
