In her paintings and collages, Roxa Smith depicts interior spaces that function simultaneously as intimate scenes of private homes and formal investigations. She juxtaposes strong architectural details, often manipulating perspective and space, with luminous colors and intricate patterns, rendering common scenes as detailed explosions of line and color. Smith has been included in exhibitions throughout the United States and in 2012 was awarded a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Painting.
