Sandy Kim

Sandy Kim's repertoire of photography is controversial, honest, and beautifully brash. Her subject matter often crosses the line of the obscene and borders on the life of her bohemian, rock n' roll, sexually-charged subjects.

Kim draws inspiration from her glamorously edgy world, whether she is documenting friends and strangers in day-to-day adventures, visually confessing her own sex-life, or snapping photos while she tours with indie rock bands like Brooklyn based DIIV and San Francisco based GIRLS. Her oeuvre shows close attention to the effects of natural light, compositional balance, intense color saturations, and sharp focus.

Spanning both coasts, Some of Kim's recent photo clients include Vice Magazine, Fader Magazine, Bullet Magazine, L Magazine, Dazed and Confused, Nike, Jive Records, and EMI Music.
