Sarajo Frieden

Painter Sarajo Frieden grew up in Oakland, California and continues to be influenced by the diverse communities of the California Pacific Rim. Her travels to Asia, North Africa, Australia, and Central and South America have also provided inspiration for her work, which often references the art of world cultures. She currently divides her time between her own artwork and working as an illustrator and graphic designer.


Frieden has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally, including in Los Angeles, New York, Melbourne, and Rome. In 2013 she was the Zeta Orionis Fellow at the Vermont Studio Center.
