Shruti Mahajan

Indian artist Shruti Mahajan’s work deals with identity, memory, and the idea of the home as both a fixed and a transitional place. As a result of her own migration and ancestral memories, Mahanjan explores the idea of home in relation to the idea of homelessness, each making the other a more powerful concept.

Mahajan received a degree in Painting at the Maharaja Saiyaji Rao University in Baroda before studying Textiles at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad. She has participated in exhibitions at galleries throughout India and Europe, including a show at Kunstverein Xanten in Germany in 2012.
