Skylar Fein

Skylar Fein creates two- and three-dimensional works from materials found on the streets of New Orleans, as well as from sources like comic books and mass-produced commodities such as bulletproof glass. Fein first gained acclaim at the inaugural Prospect New Orleans Biennial in 2008 with his installation Remember the Upstairs Lounge, a multimedia piece about a fatal 1973 New Orleans fire at a gay bar that killed thirty-two and injured dozens.

Fein's work has been the subject of solo shows at institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum and the New Orleans Museum of Art.
