About the Work
An orange orchid bursts forth from the dark blue background in this photograph. Tapp Francke has meticulously been able to capture every detail of this exquisite flower, from the dark and delicate veins in each petal, to its bright orange interior.
About the Artist
Tapp Francke’s meticulous craftsmanship is apparent in all of her photographic works. Her use of an antique film camera is representative of her view of photography as an arduous artistic process that shouldn’t be oversimplified by digital technologies. As such, her works are often saturated in color with crisp details, and absolutely stunning to behold.
Tapp Francke’s have been shown at Art Gotham, NY, Salomon Contemporary, East Hampton, The New York Merchantile Exchange, The New York Horticultural Society, The Art Movement, London, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, NY, and Guild Hall Museum.
