An extensive collaboration between Terry Winters and writer Ben Marcus for the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies, Turbulence Skins is a series of 42 offset lithographs. Amidst Winter’s frenzied geometric line work, Marcus has placed brightly colored snippets of narrative—a “travel story with a mysterious protagonist.” First exhibited at the Neiman Gallery, the project is intended to be both an exchange of ideas and an illustrative representation of collaboration, with the notes, edits, and marginalia of progress left visible to the viewer. Immersive and delightfully rough-hewn, this series is a unique intersection between the visual and the literary.
