Thomas Levy-Lasne

In his photorealistic paintings, French artist Thomas Levy-Lasne highlights the isolation of modernity and technological culture. In his "Party" series, subjects are physically near, yet mentally focused on escaping through vices such as drinking, dancing, and technology. As his subjects are often detached, he uses the surrounding environment to give them voices and identities. In his portrayals of contemporary solitude, Levy-Lasne uses classical painting techniques, intended as an ironic contrast to modern scenes.

Levy-Lasne’s figurative drawings and paintings have been presented in solo shows throughout France at galleries such as Backslash Gallery in Paris, Art Center Albert Chanot in Clamart, Isabelle Gounod Gallery in Paris, and Palace Orangery Louvière in Montlucon. In addition, he has contributed to a number of group exhibitions at Espace Topographie de L’art in Paris, Galerie rueVisconti in Paris, Under Construction Gallery in Paris, Corina Weiss Police Station in Switzerland, and DMDKT in Berlin, among others.
